Bio/Statement:

Ana Biolchini is a transdisciplinary artist, investigating space through her art and research of thread as connection into memory, ancestry, religious traditions, the symbolism of Hebrew letters, meditation, and systems of archetypes related to dimensions of the collective unconscious. Ana’s art is about being fully present and aware while creating. When she works, she pays close attention to how her body feels and how it connects with the space around her. She believes this helps fight against feeling disconnected or scattered in today’s fast-paced world.

She wants people who see her art to truly experience it – not just with their eyes, but with their whole selves. She hopes her work touches their emotions and makes them think deeply. Ana experiments with various media: painting, video, installation, ceramics, photography, screen printing, embroidery, and performance art, among others.

In her creative process, Ana explores the profound intersection of two ancient Greek concepts of time: chronos and kairos. Chronos represents the familiar linear time we experience day-to-day. Kairos, on the other hand, embodies moments of infinite potential. It’s at the meeting point of these two time concepts that she finds the essence of her artistic expression. When chronos and kairos converge the boundaries between past, present, and future seem to dissolve, opening up a realm of endless creative possibilities.

This convergence of linear time and infinite potential in her work invites viewers to step into a moment where new perspectives can take shape, free from linear thinking constraints. In a world that can sometimes feel fragmented, art offers a space for wholeness and reflection. She believes we can dialogue through art, challenging established norms, and fostering transformation. This is particularly crucial in addressing the urgent global issues we face today and the various forms of disconnection—from ourselves and from different spheres of life—that characterize our contemporary existence. It allows each viewer to find their own meaning and connection, reminding us of the depth and complexity of human experience.
