In the Lab Gallery, Open Sessions will continue with artist-directed group exhibitions.
Open Sessions 6 will feature the work of Amadeo Azar, Daniel Barroca, Youmna Chlala, Lea Cetera, Onyedika Chuke, Alexandra Lerman, Harold Mendez, Marcelo Moscheta, and Ronny Quevedo. Organized by the artists and Nova Benway and Lisa Sigal, Curators of the Open Sessions program.
The exhibition features three works by Onyedika Chuke, collectively titled The Untitled: May 30th; a project that chronicles events that occurred on and around the date of his father’s death––May 30th, 2015. This work is the genesis of autobiographical pieces with references to burials, politics and global trade.
This exhibition is the commencement of a two-year artist residency at The Drawing Center. In January 2016 Chuke will begin a two-year fellowship with The Drawing Center.
