Residency Unlimited (RU) is pleased to announce its participation in the inaugural CONDUCTOR 2026: Art Fair of the Global Majority, taking place April 29 – May 3, 2026 at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn.

Building on the momentum of the 2025 curated preview, CONDUCTOR’s inaugural edition will present individual artists and galleries across Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and Indigenous Nations around the globe, foregrounding critical perspectives from the Global Majority at a decisive cultural moment. The fair is curated by Adriana Farietta in collaboration with Powerhouse Arts.

For CONDUCTOR 2026, RU’s booth will presents chairs, lamps and drawings created at the occasion of the 2025 Dialog by Design art & design workshops led by local RU resident artists Maya McGlynn and Ross Myren. Under the hands-on mentorship of McGlynn and Myren, workshop participants—new New Yorkers from West Africa and Iran—explored the process of making as a reflection of their experience and identity in NYC. They learned how to work across 2D representation and 3D fabrication techniques from paper making with materials foraged at GrowNYC Teaching Garden on Governors Island, to building chairs and lamps with offcuts of reclaimed/sustainably harvested wood donated by Brooklyn-based workshop & millworks, Tri-Lox. Workshops took place at RU’s headquarters in Carroll Gardens and on Governors Island at the RU House. The Dialog by Design workshop series continues in 2026, expanding mentorship and participation opportunities across vulnerable communities in NYC.

Maya McGlynn and Ross Myren are alumni of Parsons School of Design, where they earned their Master of Architecture degrees, and currently serve as part-time faculty co-leading the undergraduate Design/Build course. As founders of the design studio “Scatter Practice“, they specialize in creating sustainable, community-focused installations. McGlynn and Myren also work internationally as dedicated model-makers for Hauser & Wirth and a range of NYC based architecture firms.
