Bio/Statement:
Maija Rudovska’s practice is shaped by independent curation, research, art criticism and writing. Her work is focused on inter-mediation and stimulation of relationships, communication and exchange between different spaces, contexts and institutions, paying a particular attention to topics such as in-betweenness, identity, precariousness and trauma. For the past few years she has been advocating for self-organized, independent practices, delivering projects that support certain groups/communities of art workers.
She has curated exhibitions and projects in collaboration with Manifesta biennial in Marseille (FR), Futura Gallery (CZE), Foundation Ricard (FR), Bozar Centre for Fine Arts (BE), Kim? Contemporary Art Centre (LV), Moderna Museet (SE), Contemporary Art Centre (LT), The Living Art Museum (IS), Augusta Gallery (FI), among many others. Since 2011 she has been running the network platform Blind Carbon Copy that develops networks and collaborative models between curators, artists and other practitioners in the Baltic-Nordic region, expanding them across geographical borders.
