Bio/Statement:

Jana Kuffová Popovicsová is a cultural manager based in Nitra, Slovakia. Since 2018, she has served as the program director and project manager at the independent cultural-community center Hidepark Nitra, which showcases contemporary, independent, professional, and non-professional art from Slovakia and the EU. Hidepark cultural center is an outdoor venue, spread across 10 acres of a former landfill site outside the city, surrounded by nature. This unique setting offers numerous opportunities for both functional and artistic use.

Previously, Jana worked on the city of Nitra’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2026. Over those two years, they developed a European-level project that included cultural and artistic content across more than 40 individual projects for Nitra and the Nitra region. Additionally, they prepared the NK31 – Strategy for the Development of Culture and the Creative Industry in Nitra for the years 2021-2031.

She also worked at the Creative Center Nitra, as a fundraiser/partnership coordinator. Furthermore, she also contributed to activities such as the CCN Academy, offering tailor-made education, incubation, and acceleration courses aimed at business development in culture and the creative industry, labs for improving creative skills and talent, and numerous community events and conferences.

Since 2022 , Jana has been managing and booking for the Slovak band Dis is Marketa, representing the band in Slovakia and abroad at showcases, festivals, and conferences.
