Bio/Statement:
Erika Malzoni is a Brazilian visual artist working across sculpture, installation, and text-based interventions. Her practice mobilizes everyday materials – ceramics, textiles, mirrors, packaging, and found objects – to interrogate structures of visibility, value, and belonging. Treating language as both medium and material, she activates public and intimate spaces through subtle gestures of repetition, displacement, and accumulation. Her work operates within tensions – difference and sameness, presence and absence, care and erosion – revealing the instability underlying familiar forms. Rather than producing spectacle, Malzoni creates conditions for heightened perception, where the ordinary becomes charged with symbolic and emotional resonance. Her installations function as perceptual propositions, inviting viewers into moments of recognition, reflection, and shared human proximity.

Erika Malzoni received the Acquisition Prize at XX Bienal Internacional de Arte de Cerveira, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Portugal (2018). She was also an invited Artist at the XXI and XXII Bienal Internacional de Arte de Cerveira, Portugal (2020, 2022). Her work is in permanent collections such as MACC – Museu de Arte Contemporanea de Campinas – SP, Brazil; Fundação Bienal de Cerveira – Portugal; MAC – Museu de Arte Contemporanea de Campo Grande – MS, Brazil.
