Bio/ Statement:
Alexander Jaquemet develops photographic worlds that attempt to make the viewer visible. Pictures which are created “in-between” and describe what is not seen. His attempt to devote attention to the unspectacular and to give it an artistic thought is what drives his work forward.
Selected exhibitions include, a solo show at Galerie Béatrice Brunner, Kunst Zürich (2015), Springtime (GA), Galerie Béatrice Brunner, Bern (2015), Waldbegehungen, PhotoforumPasquArt, Biel/Bienne (Einzelausstellung) (2014), Sommerausstellung, Kornhausforum, Bern (2014), Blinde Bilder, art-room Kunstkeller, Bern (2014). He received the Werkbeitrag des Kanton Berns award in 2012 and the Kantonaler Fotopreis Bern, Anerkennungspreis in 2010/2011. He is in many permanent collections including, Kanton Bern, Stadt Biel, Stadt Langenthal, Stiftung Kunsthaus Grenchen, Kulturkommission Grenchen and Die Schweizerische Post.
