Bio/ Statement:
Alexander Jaquemet develops photographic worlds that attempt to make the viewer visible. Pictures which are created “in-between” and describe what is not seen. His attempt to devote attention to the unspectacular and to give it an artistic thought is what drives his work forward.
Selected exhibitions include, a solo show at Galerie Béatrice Brunner, Kunst Zürich (2015), Springtime (GA), Galerie Béatrice Brunner, Bern (2015), Waldbegehungen, PhotoforumPasquArt, Biel/Bienne (Einzelausstellung) (2014), Sommerausstellung, Kornhausforum, Bern (2014), Blinde Bilder, art-room Kunstkeller, Bern (2014). He received the Werkbeitrag des Kanton Berns award in 2012 and the Kantonaler Fotopreis Bern, Anerkennungspreis in 2010/2011. He is in many permanent collections including, Kanton Bern, Stadt Biel, Stadt Langenthal, Stiftung Kunsthaus Grenchen, Kulturkommission Grenchen and Die Schweizerische Post. Selected publications include Alexander Jaquemet. Rabenland, with writing by Bernhard Giger und Konrad Tobler and Christian Grogg.
