Bio/Statement:
Alejandro Monge is a young and energetic artist, with both a remarkable ability to evolve and great technical skill. While his main medium is oil on canvas, in recent years he has focused on sculptural work using materials as diverse as paper, steel, marble, cement and resin. For him each work is a technical challenge to resolve in pursuit of an aesthetically beautiful and conceptually forceful result. Monge’s work is somewhat a reflection of his character as an individual who always looks at the challenges that life and society impose on us from different points of view. He feels an unstoppable desire to understand, learn and express. The rarely achieved balance between the conceptual and the aesthetically beautiful is part of the essence of this artist, the materialisation of his nature, and it can only be achieved through a resounding, multifaceted mastery of technique and a particular vision of artistic feeling as an opportunity to always take that extra step.
Alejandro’s work has been widely exhibited in Spain, the UK, the UAE, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany and the USA. He has exhibited his work internationally in select exhibitions including at the Maria Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation Headquarters, Madrid (2023), the 3 Punts Gallery, Barcelona (2023) and the Villa Casas Foundation, Palau Solterra (2020).
