Ofri Cnaani at the Israel Museum (and other summer shows)

Frequently Asked
Ofri Cnaani at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, July 14, 15, 16, 2015

Frequently Asked is a participatory performance in the Israel Museum’s permanent collection galleries that stems from Cnaani’s interest in the variety of ways in which museum knowledge is being formed, transformed and spread orally between educators and their audiences, peers, museum employees and art professionals. For this performance, Ofri Cnaani worked with 25 of the museum’s volunteer tour-guides (aka docents) in order to create 25 private walk-throughs, which bring to the front not only the art but also the role of the docent as a translator and mediator.

Corrective feedback // Education as an artistic practice
Ofri Cnaani and Avi Lubin
Friday, July 10, 10AM-12PM, Artport, Tel-Aviv

Corrective feedback is a collaborative event, organized by artist Ofri Cnaani and curator Avi Lubin and hosted by Artport residency. The event is presented in the occasion of Frequently Asked, Ofri Cnaani’s new piece at the Israel Museum. ‘Corrective Feedback’ reflects on some of the key terms that emerge from the museum performance: in ‘Lexicon’ format, six speakers present for ten minutes each, elaborating one keyword or concept that represents an idea which looks at education as an art practice.
