Plovdiv 2019 presents Deutsche Telekom’s prestigious collection of contemporary art for the first time in Bulgaria.
LISTEN TO US – ARTISTIC INTELLIGENCE (4 APRIL – 30 JUNE 2019)
The Opening will be on 4 April 2019, 19:00, in City Art Gallery.
The exhibition will be presented at different venues. In some of the houses in the Old Town subtle interventions with contemporary art are creating a balance of current artistic positions with the historical environment of the buildings. The City Art Gallery and SKLAD, the former tobacco warehouse, will present exhibitions that show that, despite all cultural and national differences, artists communicate with one common language.
LISTEN TO US is an invitation to listen to the works. Their sensual presence and intelligence are telling a lot about our common reality and encourage our own reflection. Additionally, beside the works from the Art Collection Telekom, a few newly commissioned artworks by Bulgarian artists and some works of the recent history of contemporary art in Bulgaria will be integrated in the exhibition.
The project is curated by Nathalie Hoyos and Rainald Schumacher.
