CHART DESIGN – THE CURIO

I’m pleased to invite you to my upcoming exhibition CHART DESIGN – THE CURIO during CHART ART FAIR on 26-28 August 2016 at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art & Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen.
THE CURIO is a new platform that recognises and celebrates exceptional and emerging Danish talents in a fine selection of multifaceted works from various design disciplines. The objects exhibited in THE CURIO reformulates and extends the idea of what Danish design can be and provides a glimpse of where it is going. While some take on a clear functional purpose, others glance at art to the extent that it almost diverges and merge in its mere abstract, sculptural presence. The objects presented at CHART DESIGN – THE CURIO share their keen interest in form, in underlying structures and the inherent properties of natural and new materials, their aesthetics, durability and solidity in the span between the self-explanatory, functional and the poetic and aesthetically pleasing.
CHART DESIGN – THE CURIO will show new works by Carl Emil Jacobsen, Kasper Kjeldgaard, Mika Katarina Friis, Camilla Monsrud, Astrid Tolnov, Anne Brandhøj, Rosa Tolnov Clausen.
