Bio/Statement:

Yakira Ament is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intimate dialogue between the physical body, the emotional realm and the environmental influences shaping our inner worlds. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, and movement, she creates improvised encounters with materials that hold the essence of elemental forces of nature, intertwined in the feminine form. Her works navigate the delicate interplay of fragility and resilience within the human core, drawing inspiration from dream states, embodied gestures, and sacred landscapes.

Her visionary practice unfolds as a continuous journey of internal research, crafting immersive spaces that invite both visual and emotional engagement. She creates sculptures and drawings that evoke organic bodies and dreamscapes in perpetual evolution, suspended in a timeless space between light and shadow, earth and sky. These hybrid forms – where the boundaries between nature, culture, animal and human dissolve – are charged with potent energies that mirror the cycles of birth, decay, and renewal. Working primarily with clay, charcoal, water, mineral stones and bronze, Yakira explores the alchemical relationship between materiality and emotional transformation. Each medium carries deep symbolic weight, allowing her to channel the shifts within both personal and collective energies.

Solo exhibitions include: Song of the Snake, Hezi Cohen Gallery, TLV (2023), Below the Horizon, Artists Studio Gallery, TLV (2023). Selected group exhibitions: If I was Body, Petach Tikva Museum, Petach Tikva(2025), The Wave Effect, Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art, Haifa (2025), In the Fields, Kupferman Collection House, 2025, The Poison Path, Neve Schechter Gallery, TLV (2024), Time Space, Edmond De Rothschild gallery, TLV (2021), Erotic Salon, Noga gallery, TLV (2018). Ament was granted the Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Arts and Culture department, Israel (2024), received the Luckman Scholarship for Excellence in Israeli Art (2022), the America Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) award for outstanding achievements (2020).
