“To hear the flower cry
I return to a performance of my childhood, revisited after twenty years in Stuttgart. Alone in a post-war home in Kosovo, art was forbidden for boys like me; space existed only for work, not play, not creation. Yet, unknowingly, art was everything I desired, everything that shaped my life. Painting, drawing, performance, patriotic gestures, pop music, dances, Adeline Ismaily, Britney Spears, all forms of forbidden expression. Questions remained unanswered, curiosity persisted: Why was a boy not allowed to move, to perform, to express? Each act, each mimicry, became a silent resistance, a fragment of memory, a mix of joy and trauma. Now, in my thirties, I reclaim these performances, seeking answers, confronting fear, and transforming fragments of the past into a living dialogue.” – Leutrim Morina
