Bio/Statement:

Hila Amram is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, video, and mixed media, where she intricately explores and challenges the concepts within natural forms and scientific fields such as biology and archaeology. Amram’s artistic inquiry addresses the profound impact of human activities on the natural world, often provoking ethical considerations surrounding scientific progress.

Hila Amram’s art has gained international recognition, featuring in significant exhibitions like Glasstress Gotika at the Fondazione Berengo in Venice. Her contributions to the art world have been acknowledged with several prestigious awards, including the Sharett Foundation Award. In 2014, she was honored with a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Israel to encourage creativity. Further solidifying her status as a leading contemporary artist, Amram received the 2018 Keshet Award for Contemporary Artists, an accolade supported by the Bar-Gil Avidan family.

Hila’s work has been widely exhibited in Israel and internationally. Select solo exhibitions include Bondormin, a collaboration with Shahar Kornblit at Beeri Gallery, Tel Aviv (2023); “9” at Keshet Award for Contemporary Art at Herzliya Museum, Herzliya (2019); Glasstress, an installation that uses a collection of archaeological and historical vessels at the Venice Biennale (2015); Cell Culture Club, a collaboration with Nivi Alroy at the Artists Studio, Tel Aviv (2014); Colony Collapse Disorder at Dana Art Gallery, Kibbutz Yad Mordechai (2013); and Crystal Garden at the Museum for Israeli Art, Ramat Gan (2008).
