Glorija’s practice questions concepts of belonging, genealogy and memory. She works primarily with documentary and staged photography as well as with textiles and archival materials. The artist also applies a technique of phototherapy by using herself as a starting point and as a subject of her work in order to transform and create possible scenarios thus constructing new realities. Intertwining personal and collective histories and experiences, the artist seeks to examine the relationship between the private and the public.
Glorija Lizde participates internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including: O21 OSTRALE Biennale; Art Quarter Budapest; Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center in Budapest; Athens Photo Festival, Benaki Museum (2020); Rich Mix Cultural Center in London; Being / Seeing at QUAD Gallery in Derby (2018), Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb; Almissa Open Art Festival (2019), 35th Youth Salon in Zagreb and 57th Zagreb Salon.
