Bio/Statement:

Eden Auerbach Ofrat is an Israeli video and video installation artist. In her works and video installations, Auerbach Ofrat deals with cultural archetypes, canonical or imaginary symbols, contradictory and complementary existential poles and a reliance on literary and mythical sources. Her work is done either through playing with given mythological elements and symbols or by creating “private” myths. Eden has won The Pais Foundation Incubator scholarship at Wilfrid Museum (2022), the Israeli Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports Young Artist Award(2014) and an America-Israel Foundation excellence scholarship(2004). She exhibits in exhibitions in Israel and abroad, and her work can be found in the Israel Museum collection and in private collections in Israel and Europe.

Eden’s solo exhibitions include Solaris: A Trilogy, Tel Aviv Artists’ Studios, Tel Aviv (2024); Project Melissa, ZAZ10TS Gallery, New York (2022); Amaterasu, Minshar For Art Gallery, Tel  Aviv (2022); Der Erlkonig, The Artists House, Tel Aviv (2017); Terminal (Homage To Arnold Bocklin), Petach Tikva Museum Of Modern Art (2015); Luna – video installation, Noga Gallery of Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv (2007); The Pool – video installation, Noga Gallery of Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv (2005). Her group exhibitions also include Snowdrops,  Fridman Gallery, New York (2024); Toward East, The Pais Incubator Exhibition at Wilfrid Israel Museum (2023); Family Stories, KunstMuseum Bochum, Bochum, Germany (2019); Escape Room – FLUCA – Austrian Cultural Pavilion, Sofia, Bulgaria (2018); ZAZ 10TS – 24:7 at Times Square, New York, NY (2018); Empire II, Travelling exhibition, Venice, London, Brussels, Berlin (2017); Celeste Prize’s finals exhibition, Milan (2015)
