Bio/Statement:
Eda Şarman observes nature as a guide in her practice, where she examines methods of being, sharing and coming together. Combining architecture with philosophy, she grounds her practice on bodily perception. Seeking ways to grasp rhythms surrounding us, she uses technology—
the way we weave nature—in moving images, kinetic sculptures, sound works and installations.
Her works have been shown in solo exhibitions and international festivals, including: phenomenal tendencies in usual phenomena (2023, FAP, Istanbul), How Do We Work Together? x are projects (2022, 8th Çanakkale Biennial); air tight, spring’s arrival wrapped the earth with mutation (2021-2, Bilsart, Istanbul); Journeys: The Healing Arts (2022, Saatchi Gallery, London); First International Festival of Manuports (Kunsthalle KOHTA, Helsinki, 2021), water runs from me to you, all show, watery world (2021-2, SENKRON, Istanbul-Antalya); shake well beforehand (2022, Kiralık Depo, Istanbul); Vacation at the end of the world (2020, Electric Artefacts x Off Site Projects, online); TBA21 Ocean Archive (2020, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary Foundation, online); tide between us, Call Home (2019-8, Art Licks Weekend: interdependence/peripheries, London).
