Meet Over Lunch: In conversation with Fully Funded Residencies (FFR)

Virtual Talk
Friday April 15, 2022 | 1:00pm EST

We invite you to join us for a casual conversation with Fully Funded Residencies, moderated by co-founders Mila Panić (2022 RU artist), Eliot Moleba (Oslo-based scholar, writer, editor, theatre-maker, and director), and Saša Tatić (artist based in Berlin).

Fully Funded Residencies (FFR) is an online platform for research and knowledge-sharing that gathers, archives and shares fully funded residencies, awards, grants and mobility funds.

This presentation will focus on specific aspects related to residency programs that are often overlooked such as non-artistic labor within residencies, need and demand for financial, organizational, and logistical transparency, peer support and solidarities as well as accessibility to funded international AiR.

Fully Funded Residencies (FFR) was launched in 2018 by the artist Mila Panić. Presently, the FFR team includes Paloma Sanchez-Palencia, Lena Skrabs, Enrico Floriddia, Matthias Pitscher, Saša Tatić, Eliot Moleba and Rebecca A. Layton. The mission of FFR is to work towards making the contemporary art fields more democratic, transparent and equal. The aim is to facilitate an open environment for cultural workers to exchange knowledge, ideas and experience through providing evaluation forms, a pool of resources, applications and counselling.

About

Mila Panić is the winner of 2021 ZVONO Art Award for Young Visual Artist in Bosnia and Herzegovina. An artist, researcher and stand-up comedian, she currently lives and mingles in Berlin. Mila’s practice questions existing narratives of diaspora and issues related to the phenomenology of place, such as the expanded notion of belonging, guilt and responsibility. In her projects that range from personalized documentation to highly poetic visual and discursive elements, she addresses the constant aspiration for a better life and counterbalances personal expectations with intimacy as a tool for resistance. Panić’s works were exhibited at Kunsthaus Dresden, Künstlerhaus Wien, National Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, North Macedonia, and Mediterranea 19 Young Artists Biennale in San Marino, Italy, among others. Panić received Research Grant for Visual Arts 2021 from Senate Department for Culture and Europe and Braunschweig Projects 2022/2023: Artist Funding at the University of Art Braunschweig. She has participated in many residencies, festivals and talks including Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop, Germany, Kultur Kontakt Residency in Vienna, Austria, ADATA AiR in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

This program is made possible with support from the The Trust for Mutual Understanding.
