Bio/Statement:
Sadrie Alves intertwines the fields of visual and performing arts, often in collaboration with others. Her practice materializes across various media, including works on paper, textiles, ceramics, performances, and workshops. The story is seen as a conduit through which she navigates different temporalities, rewriting, speculating, and politicizing them through a simultaneously critical and loving lens. Alves’ work is informed by intercultural melodies and narratives, as well as the beings that inhabit them.
Sadrie has participated in group exhibitions such as “The Politics of Friendship”, POMONA Laureates, Art Brussels/BE (2025); “Here and Then, There and Now”, Het Bos, Antwerp/BE (2025); “Messages at the Crossroads”, JEDNA DVA TRI Gallery, Prague/CZ (2024). Her selected performances include “When They Sing Us to Sleep”, EKA Kunsthalle, Trier/BE (2025); “As Stubborn as a Mule”, JEDNA DVA TRI Gallery, Prague/CZ (2024); “BÁRBARA”, Het Bos in collaboration with deSingel, Antwerp/BE (2023). Sadrie has participated in residencies such as Fluid Materialities, Trier/DE (2025); Petrohradská Kolektiv, Prague/CZ (2024); MORPHO, Antwerp/BE (2023); UNIDEE Residency Programs, Biella/IT (2023). She has received grants from POMONA Art Fund, Belgium (2025) and Emerging Talent, Flanders State Of The Art, Belgium (2023).
