Bio/Statement:
MIMOZA LIZA is the winner of the Artist of Tomorrow Award 2024 organized by Stacion CCA in Pristina.
MIMOZA LIZA is a visual artist living and working between Vienna and Pristina. Her work is raw, political, and personal, bouncing between humor and frustration, between DIY rebellion and social critique. Painting is a way for her to make noise, a space where sarcasm, absurdity, and anger coexist. Now she is also expanding her practice to incorporate performance and video, where she is staging the scenes and embodying the characters. These works are a way for her to make art feel immediate, like a protest. Whether through painting, video, or a chaotic mix of both, her aim is to challenge power, identity, and the absurdities of the world.
MIMOZA LIZA’S selected solo exhibitions include Status, Stacion – Center for Contemporary Art, Pristina (2023), and Milk and Honey, Room Five Studio, Pristina (2022).
