Bio/Statement:

Julia Feldens is a performer, researcher and cultural producer based in São Paulo, Brazil. Since 2015, she has performed the Casa Líquida, a performance in which the artist opens her house to other people and uses. The result of this experience is the creation of a territory of exchange that has welcomed more than 3,000 artists and researchers. Casa Líquida is also the subject of the artist’s research. In her Master’s degree between 2018 and 2021, she explored the economic dimension of this experience and analyzed the production of value in this performance-house. Now, in her PHD course, Julia reflects on the relationship between collectivity and creative processes. In 2022, Casa Líquida became an artistic residency that houses various artistic languages such as music, dance, visual arts, literature, photography and cinema.

Julia’s work with Casa Líquida has led to collaborations with key institutions in contemporary art. In 2019, Casa Líquida partnered with Concordia University for the “Immediations” project, initiating a dialogue around artistic research and curatorial practice. In 2024, Julia coordinated partnerships with the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art for the 38th PANORAMA exhibition, and contributed to the seminar Queer Metamorphoses, participating in the panel “Political Imagination to Activate Collectives.” Looking ahead, Casa Líquida is set to collaborate with the Bienal Foundation in 2025 for the 36th São Paulo Art Biennial, further strengthening its role as a platform for experimental and socially engaged art.
