The Bęc bookshop-gallery at Mokotowska presents drawings from the Every Day Drawing Series project – Domestic Landscape dedicated to Polish immigration and referring to urban changes and gentrification processes taking place in Williamsburg and Greenpoint in Brooklyn and on Pico Boulevard, California. Sztencel draws images of everyday products and their packaging, as well as maps of the neighborhoods in which the products are most often used. She then transfers her drawings from her sketchbook to other utilitarian objects such as linen bags. Cloth bags communicate the secret code of an immigrant – I’m from a distance, just like the products I use.

In addition to her original work, Asia Sztencel also created a new series of drawings on linen bags, which are available in a limited edition during the exhibition. The bags were printed by the artist in the screen printing technique with the support of the Technical Assistant of Zdzisław Janiak at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź and were sewn by an independent Polish company dealing in the production of Eco Poland. Sztencel, working with local communities, invites you to participate actively by coloring printed bags. Everyone can participate in their creation in this way, leaving their individual mark and treating them as a common object of art in cooperation with the artist.
