Piotr Urbaniec is the 1st Prize winner of the 15th edition of the Artistic Journey Hestia. The reward for the young artist was a month at Residency Unlimited in New York City.

Hestia Artistic Journey competition was launched in 2002. Its concept was conceived by Piotr Śliwicki, the President of ERGO Hestia Group and the patron of the arts. Every year, the jury comprising of artists, journalists and academic professors selects the most talented student of an art academy who takes part in one-month long artist-in-residence programme in New York.
For six years, the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk was the exclusive partner of the project. In 2008, the competition was joined by Spain – DKV Seguros insurance company launched twin competition Grand Tour DKV in the University of Valencia. The collaboration extended the pool of awards with scholarships in Gdańsk and Valencia as well as joint exhibitions in both countries.
In 2009, the reach of Hestia Artistic Journey covered all Academies of Fine Arts in Poland. In November the same year, ERGO Hestia’s Hestia Artistic Journey garnered a statuette in the contest “Art More Precious Than Gold” organised by Commitment to Europe Arts & Business Foundation and the National Bank of Poland.
From 2014, the competition is open to third, fourth and fifth year students of all art academies in Poland.
