Copenhagen Ultracontemporary Biennale curators, Tijana Miskovic (and RU curator-in-residence in November 2015) and Thierry Geoffroy (COLONEL), are coming to Washington, DC to meet with WPA member artists and curators for one-on-one portfolio reviews.
Ms. Miskovic and Mr. Geoffroy are interested in meeting with WPA member artists and curators working with issues of society who are interested in participating in the 1st Copenhagen Ultracontemporary Biennale, which will take place in 2017. The biennale will include Danish and international artists and curators who have a burning need to produce and exhibit works that relate to what is happening in the world at the moment or what will happen if the world doesn’t act now. Ms. Miskovic and Mr. Geoffroy will be conducting the portfolio reviews as part of their search for participants in the biennale.
The Copenhagen Ultracontemporary Biennale will feature art on the same day it is made. Ms. Miskovic and Mr. Geoffroy will be looking for work that deals with issues that cannot wait to be expressed, things such as; wars, climate conditions, political changes, and other factors and events that require immediate public attention.
Artists/curators with projects or ideas fitting within these ideas are invited to apply for a Portfolio Review meeting. Ms. Miskovic and Mr. Geoffroy will meet with 10 selected WPA member artists/curators at one-hour intervals over the course of Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21, 2015.
Submissions will only be accepted online via our online submission form. Questions can be directed to Samantha May, Program Director at smay@wpadc.org.
