CDL/G will open 2014 with a solo exhibition by contemporary Slovakian artist Lucia Papčo entitled “Arcadia.” The photographs featured in the show, taken in the forested mountains of Papčo’s native Slovakia, capture the sublime, yet fleeting moments in when light, angle and shadow reveal the landscape’s deepest beauty.
In many cases, the light conditions she sought to capture occurred only a few days per year, for a few hours a day. The ephemeral nature of these arcadian moments required the artist to spend a significant amount of time observing and documenting the changes in light and how they affected the perception of place.
Christian Duvernois Landscape/Gallery is a new trans-disciplinary landscape design studio and art gallery. Located in New York City, CDL/G delivers experience in urban and residential landscape design while simultaneously promoting the work of contemporary landscape artists through unique gallery exhibitions.
