Residency Unlimited (RU)
360 Court Street (enter the Church through the main entrance)
Brooklyn, NY 11231
RU artist, Jaroslaw Kozakiewicz works in the boundary between art and architecture. In his practice, Kozakiewicz develops models of conceptual and/or critical architecture, that are not always intended to be realized but rather to address or solve specific problems. He refers to them as diagnostic instruments designed to assess the functioning of the human living environment and the failures that arise in urban planning and construction.
During his talk, Kozakiewicz will present examples of designs and strategies that address degraded spaces, excessive industrialization, overly developed urbanization, and the effects of rampant consumption on the natural environment. He will also share thoughts on the topic of the increasing presence of excessive memory in the public space today.
The Meet Over Lunch series is an ongoing invitation extended to local and visiting art practitioners to present their practice and projects over lunch to the RU community.
