Featuring RU artist in residence Muhammad Toukhy in the RU voices interview series 🎤
Muhammad is a Palestinian multidisciplinary artist based in Haifa. His practice revolves around themes of history, trauma, and esotericism. Toukhy’s works delve into collective memory through personal experience by combining personal and mundane narratives with moments of fantasy, these serving as a method to facilitate a cathartic reimagining of traumatic memory.
The group exhibition, “House of Confluence: Living Room Portfolio”, featuring Muhammad’s work, was recently on view at the RU House on Governors Island. We had the immense pleasure of meeting her to discuss her residency!
We are thrilled to present our artists in residence through intimate interviews and inspiring conversations about them, their works and the city!
