The building is closely situated next to Schaulager, the Helsinki building – by architects Herzog & de Meuron – and it faces the new Academy of Art and Design Basel (HGK FHNW), along with a number of new ‘off’ or alternative spaces and galleries, which are all part of the growing Campus of the Arts. The House of Electronic Arts Basel (HeK) is located on the ground floor of the new Atelier Mondial complex, and guest artists from around the world occupy the first floor.
