About:

Carolin Knebel is a trained art historian with a degree in Master in Art History, Pedagogy and German Literature from the Humboldt University in Berlin consciously practising in educational settings for several years. Since 2006 she has been working as a Research Associate for the Education Department at the ZKM | Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe. She is co-founder of the platform »Fort-Da«, an independent platform for political aesthetics embedded in a network of both institutional and individual collaborators . Fort-Da is dedicated to renegotiating the conditions of visibility of certain groups or individuals within the institution by adopting both pedagogical and artistic means.

Joe Fusaro received his Masters in Education from the City University of New York and his BFA from Hofstra University. He is an exhibiting artist, an art educator certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, and the Visual Arts Chair for the Nyack Public Schools in New York since 2003. Prior to joining the Nyack school district he was a teacher and staff developer in the NewYork City school system for 13 years. Mr. Fusaro works as the Senior Education Advisor for the Peabody Award-winning biennial television series, Art21: Art in the Twenty-First Century, and is also an adjunct instructor for NYU’s Graduate Program in Art and Arts Professions. He has presented staff development workshops and teacher training for education associations, museums, and school districts throughout the United States, including the National Art Education Association, the New York State Art Teachers Association, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Walker Art Center, the Museum of Modern Art and the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Mr. Fusaro writes the weekly column, Teaching with Contemporary Art, for the Art21 blog, which explores a variety of issues in art education today. He has also had the opportunity to interview artists such as Eleanor Antin and Janine Antoni for the column:
