NYCBAR was a unique experience, with how decentralized the program is. As I was coming out of a stagnant period in the studio, our weekly meetings with studio visitors helped motivate me to get working again. The program’s financial assistance also made that possible after a long period of financial strain. Jesse is a sincere and committed host and made me feel cared for especially as we were putting together our group exhibition. He worked hard to get us meetings with people we requested, and I was able to connect or reconnect with several curators I had been trying to get an audience with. I hope to continue those conversations and am grateful to RU NYCBAR for facilitating them.
