As part of our Meet Over Lunch series, please join us for a talk by Tbilisi-based RU resident curator Maka Chkhaidze, a 2025 ArtsLink International Fellow (as part of the CEC ArtsLink program supporting transnational arts and social practice).
As the founder, curator, and director of InForm – Platform for Inclusive Minds, Maka will share the story of the company’s evolution — from its beginnings to its current projects. InForm is a Georgia-based inclusive contemporary dance theatre that unites artists with and without disabilities.
Drawing on examples from InForm’s performances, Maka will reflect on the company’s artistic practice as both an act of creation and an act of earning the right to a way of living where everyone has the freedom to express themselves creatively, on and off stage.
InForm offers a new perspective on inclusion, equity, and diversity in the performing arts, adding sharp political and social dimensions to its artistic mission. Through performance, the company explores a universal performative language that brings each individual’s unique creative expression to the forefront and opens up dialogue on equity and representation in contemporary society. The talk will be accompanied by rich audio-visual material showcasing InForm’s performances and creative process.

About:
Maka Chkhaidze is a cultural manager and curator with a background as a trained actor. Her primary interest lies in researching and using the performing arts as a tool in building relations between disconnected, underrepresented social groups. In 2022, she founded the non-profit organisation InForm – Platform for Inclusive Minds, which advocates for bringing the disability narrative into the performing arts scene in Georgia and links the contemporary arts and disability communities. She is the creator of an inclusive contemporary dance theatre group that has dancers and actors of mixed abilities. The troupe develops original and collaborative performing art productions at the local and international levels, as well as conducting educational programmes and fostering an inclusive arts community.
