Thomas Rom (elected in 2017) is a former award-winning advertising creative director turned art advisor, curator and cultural strategist. He builds and manages private art collections worldwide, working closely with high-profile collectors to shape and advance the landscape of contemporary art. Through his namesake practice, Thomas Rom Art Advisory, he has overseen artistic collaborations for brands including Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Zegna, Lanvin, Boucheron, Levi’s, Nike, Club Monaco, 20Ltd, L’Objet, ABSOLUT, W Hotels, Ritz-Carlton and the Financial Times.
In addition to his work with private collections, Rom has advised numerous cultural institutions and corporations globally, including the Design Museum Holon, Centro da Cultura Judaica, São Paulo, Halle am Wasser Art Campus, Berlin and Christie’s Americas. He also serves as Chair of Art & Architecture for Summit Series, where he helps shape cross-disciplinary dialogue at the intersection of art, innovation and social impact. His speaking engagements include the School of Visual Arts, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Savannah College of Art and Design, Design Miami, Affirmation Arts, Artis and Artport.
Rom has curated institutional and commercial exhibitions, actively writes for exhibition catalogues and is a member of Independent Curators International. In 2026, he contributed to the launch of The99 as cultural producer and author of the book’s prologue. The book serves as a guide to the most influential modern and contemporary art centers worldwide.
A committed patron of the arts, Rom is Board Chair of Performance Space New York and Co-Chair of its Visionary Circle. He serves on the Board of Directors of Residency Unlimited, the Aikido Project Committee and the Park Avenue Armory Artistic Council. He is also an ambassador to ArtRio.
