RU’s 2017 Residency Raffle!
As an artist, don’t miss the chance to win a fully funded 5-week residency in Croatia in April/May 2018 by purchasing a Raffle ticket for $25 each, or $20 for two or more! We also encourage artists supporters to nominate and buy a ticket for an artist of their choice. In this case please indicate the name(s) and website in the purchase process below.
This opportunity will be jointly hosted by the Museum of Fine Arts (MOFA) in Split and the Institute for Contemporary Artin Zagreb. The artist will be invited by Janka Vukmir, Director of the Institute for Contemporary Art to spend up to one week in Zagreb followed by a residency at MOFA hosted by Director Branko Franceschi.

Annual Benefit on Wednesday Sept 13th, 2017 7:30-11pm*
The winning artist will be contacted on Thurs Sept 14th.
*You do not need to attend the benefit event to participate in the raffle.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY
The Institute for Contemporary Art in Zagreb | The Museum of Fine Arts in Split |
- The winner will spend up to one week in the premises of the Institute for Contemporary Art in Zagreb. The artist will be connected to the local art scene.
- The residency continues in Split under the auspices of the Museum of Fine Arts. Accommodation and a public presentation at the museum or the local Academy of Fine Arts will be offered to the artist.
- The airfare cost to Zagreb and ground transportation from Zagreb to Split will be covered by RU.
- In addition, the artist will receive a stipend of $500.
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
- Artists participating in the raffle must be practicing visual artists with a website or portfolio URL showing at least 3 years of professional practice.
- Artists can buy tickets on their own behalf.
- It is also possible to buy a ticket and nominate an artist of your choice. In this case please indicate the name(s) and website.
HOSTING ORGANIZATIONS
The Museum of Fine Arts in Split was opened in 1931. The collection of 5,200 works spanning a time period from the 14th century to today begins with the Venetian Republic followed by the Austro-Hungarian Empire, socialist Yugoslavia to the current Republic of Croatia. The display of some 400 artworks in the galleries provides a unique time travel into the rich artistic creativity of the region. Each year the Museum organizes twenty exhibitions by Croatian and international artists and curators. The museum is directed by Branko Franceschi, commissioner and curator of the Pavilion of the Republic of Croatia at the 55th La Biennale di Venezia.
The Institute for Contemporary Art – SCCA, Zagreb was established in 1998 as a non profit arts organisation with a gallery, reading room and archive. Besides organizing exhibitions, the organization offers administrative and financial assistance to artists and institutions, supporting art and education programs, and building collaborative relationships with partners who advocate for the arts in Croatia and internationally. Directed by Janka Vukmir, the Institute established in 2002, the prestigious Radoslav Putar Award that offers an artist a 2 month residency at Residency Unlimited supported by Trust for Mutual Understanding.
