One (1) artist or group of artists working in the fields of visual arts, performance, sculpture or sound will be chosen to create a Neon Museum inspired project for a four week residency in Las Vegas sponsored and supported by the Neon Museum. The residency will span June 1-30, 2017.
ELIGIBILITY: This project is open to artists based in the United States working in the fields of visual arts, performance, sculpture or sound over the age of 18. (Neon Museum employees are not eligible to apply.)
SELECTION: One artist or group of artists will be chosen. Selection criteria will include demonstrated artistic excellence, quality and clarity of proposal, quality and benefit of proposed public program, and a demonstrated ability to complete the project within the project schedule:

June 1-30, 2017 Residency in Neon Museum Studio.
PROJECT BUDGET: The artist or group of artists selected will be paid a stipend of a total of $1,000 for materials and artist fees. The museum will provide staffing support to assist the artist in administering any performance or program component the artist incorporates. The selected artist/s will be provided a small travel stipend, studio space and lodging for four weeks. No additional funding is provided to the artist by the Museum.
REQUIREMENTS: The Neon Museum requests artists’ provide a mutually agreed upon artwork for the Museum collection at the completion of the residency. The studio space provided comprises 800 square feet within a climate controlled shared facility. Artists are therefore requested to develop projects that are considerate of adjacent staff, although after-hours access may also be negotiated if required.
