Open call for an artist's residency at Edamama ecological farm, 2 -22 July
The Israeli Radical Faeries Community invites artists to join a three week program at our ecological farm of Adamama in July 2017.
The program includes workshops and an open space for artists who wish to dive into a quiet space close to nature alongside an additional community of faeries and queer artists.
We wish to create an intimate group of 10-15 artists, writers, musicians and performers who want to participate and create in a magical and inspiring environment that allows both independent and collaborative space to work in.
Interested participants are requested to submit a statement of intent that includes a paragraph of self-presentation, a presentation of the medium and a project / research that they will focus on.
The farm is located in the northwestern Negev in Moshav Nir Moshe. The place serves as an alternative space for queer culture as a whole and a home for the Israeli and the international radical fairy communities. Several members live on the farm in an ecologically friendly manner and promote activities and collaborations in the fields of ecology, creativity and spirituality.
Accommodation in personal tents is in the farm campgrounds. The farm include showers with hot water, and ecological toilets. There is a vegetarian communal kitchen with refrigerator and cooking facilities. All meals will be provided by the farm, and participants are asked to help once a week with the meal preparation.
The farm has few very unique buildings, some were build with mud, some with recycled ecological methods, a bedouin tent, that serve as the central gathering area, a large yurt and dome tent and others.
The farm also includes a studio for visual artist, that can provide a creative space for 3-4 artists, a quiet and workspace 3-4 writers with wireless internet, a dedicated performance space in a round earth house and an additional music space with piano for 3-4 musicians.
Our farm also have many other inspiring spaces - between the trees in the orchard, in the lowlands, in the open fields, in the forests and around the fire at night ....
The total cost (including accommodation and meals) is 2700 NIS / 680 Euros.
Leviathan will take place 2nd-22nd of July.
