To mark BAR’ second residency phase, you can attend Open Studios featuring works by their current artists-in-residence: Ivana Ivkovic, Pierre Dalpé and Lucienne Bestall. Each artist will be unveiling the work created during the six-week stay at BAR.
Ivana’s site-specific installation explores the layers of social history in Beirut, Pierre showcases the most recent stage of his photographic series Personae, and Lucienne maps Beirut’s art scene through a series of object exchanges with local artists.
Beirut Art Residency is a nonprofit, artist-run interdisciplinary space. Its artist-in-residence program aims to stimulate creativity through interaction with the local environment, artists and cultural institutions, and seeks to foster cross-cultural relations between participants and the local artistic community in Beirut.
