Hector Canonge’s “LiVEART.US” at Queens Museum

LiVEART.US
April 16, Saturday, 4:30 pm
Organized and curated by Hector Canonge
Queens Museum

LiVEART.US features works where the body, as main instrument for artistic creation and expression, is the catalyst for sensorial experiences, cultural interpretation, and critical reflection. The program’s main objective is to further support the creation and presentation of new works in Live Action Art in an environment suitable for reflection and dialogue. LiVEART.US follows and complements the monthly program TALKaCTIVE initiated by Canonge last September. According to Canonge:

This month’s artists have been invited to participate in the program with new works that explore corporeal boundaries in their relation with circumscribed familiar and remote geographies. The program counts with the participation of Israeli born NYC based artist and director of Glasshouse Art Life LabLital Dotan; Chicago artist, founder and director of Defibrillator, Joseph Ravens; multidisciplinary artist from India, Kuldeep Singh; visiting Mexican artist and founder of Live Art Mexico, Alejandro Chellet; Massachusetts based Albanian artist, Kledia Spiro; and Asia Arts Council resident Japanese artist,Nao Nishihara.
